WE are replacing leaking water pipes in our 1985 Allegro - we are down to the leaky valve that come off of the hot water heater.  We cannot seem to find this part anywhere online or off - it is PVC has a knob on top and is male threaded in three directions does anyone have any idea where I can find one of these and possible what it is called.  If not can anyone tell me maybe what the model number is on the factory hot water heater mine is wrapped and we have no idea where to begin tryng to find any of these numbers.  Thanks!

WE have spend a lot of time and money at Home Depot and they have been great however I'm sad to say that this is the one part that they can't help us with  :(

BTW, that's awesome - we love it so far but it has been an adventure.  WE bought it from my aunt and uncle and there have been some required repairs before we can actually use it and now we are at a snag - right here at the end!

The bypass valves are not part of the heater, so the heater model number won't help solve a valve problem. It is usually on a sticker on the outside, viewable via the outer access door. Yours may be washed/faded away, though.

RV water heater bypass valves are a stock item - you can get a whole bypass kit for around $20, just just replace them all if need be. There are three styles, using a single valve, two valves or three valves. They all work, but it may be easiest to stick with what you have. Here is a description of the various bypass systems:

You can order a bypass kit online from any number of places. Here are some:

Millie,

I recommend taking the thing to a plumbing supply store.  the big box places only carry the most commonly used stuff, and RV parts aren't common enough.  Check the yellow pages for plumbing supply and I bet you'll find one.
