Several years ago we stayed at the French Quarter RV Resort. We were only passing through and only stayed 2 days. I liked the fact that it was only 3 blocks off the Quarter (after a golf cart ride to the front gate). A corner lot had enough room for my 38 footer and 26' trailer (side by side).
Upper end pricing, but the closeness was worth it since we did not have a tow vehicle. Rates vary by season and special events. http://www.fqrv.com/about-the-resort.html
We stayed at Bayou Segnette State Park and found it to be a good place to stay at a reasonable price. Here is the Woodalls link:

We just came back from New Orleans and we stayed at Ponchatrain Landing. It is in sort of an industrial area but is a nice little oasis, gated, secure, and a shuttle service to The French Quarter. And it was around $60.00 a night vs.$299.00 a night for The French Quarter RV park.
