Hi folks. Angela and I just finished a couple week great circle trip from the okanagan valley, up to YOHO, back tracking a bit to Golden and then on to Kootenay national park and then coming home thru the Monashee summit and on thru the Slocan highway back to the Okanagan. With all the side trips it was just under 1900 kilometers, so not a ton of driving this time.

So yes, this is a good route, but you have to be okay with taking a couple ferries as there are a couple lake crossings involved.

We started off with an overnight stay in Golden to touch base with a cousin and then on to Yoho national park for the main event. There are a few campgrounds in Yoho...all unserviced so you need to be self sufficient. They have potable water in many locations and a common sani-dump. Good shower facilities from what we are told although we didn't use them as we are self contained in the trailer. Here are a few pics of the campground and a few of the hikes we did in the area. We were there for 5 days but actually should have stayed 7 as we had to skip a few hikes. Oh well, now we have a reason to go back. We chose an open field site so we could see the mountains but the majority of the sites are in thick forest.

My intention was to include a commentary for each pic but I have a list of things to do today so it will be without commentary on some of them.

Enjoy the pics.

Radar the 13 year old wonder dog. We are in our 60’s. He is like 91 in dog years. Hope we can still hike as good as he does at 91.

Okay. That’s enough for now. I’ll post another 10 pics in a few days of other parts of the trip.

Great photos. One thing I have been curious about in your adventures is the actual day to day living in a teardrop.

Maybe at some time you could post some pictures in camp with some interior shots, cooking, etc, etc. That would be very helpful to me and I am sure others thinking about TD camping.

I have a 1946 Marquis TD that is on my restoration to do list. It has an area in the "trunk" to set up a camp kitchen. I have off and on been thinking about the fit out. I have contemplated a camp shower with a tray for grey water as well as run off from the kitchen sink.

Another practical matter is clothing storage and dressing - it looks like your TT may have enough height to dress but mine definitely won't.

I also may need to re-engineer the tongue. The PO lengthened it to accommodate batteries and I also want to add a propane tank so I need to make sure the long square tube is strong enough. I am also planning a 15-20 gallon water tank that would fit low and just behind the axle. This weight would be offset with batteries and propane on the tongue.

Good morning Ex Calif.

I am 6 feet 200 pounds and have no problem standing in our T@B. When I am in the bathroom though I can feel my hair touch the ceiling when I am showering.

Here are a few pics of the interiour. Our criteria was that it had a made up bed that we didn’t have to turn into a table or whatever. In this one the bed is at the back and the booth is at the front. Perfect for us.

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask any questions.

OK - Thanks - That's cool and a lot roomier than I expected. I love the efficiency of the head - very smart design it appears.

Is that a convection cooktop in the galley area?

No. Good old fashioned propane.
