Parking brake solutions

1997 Holiday Rambler, 32 foot class A with a Chevy chassis. Vin=1GBLP37N2S3327646. It has the automatic parking brake but doesn't work and hasn't in the year I've had it. I am not looking for the factory info on how to repair it but more the factory info so I can reengineering it to be less of a hazard it were to fail. Any info on the OEM operation would be greatly appreciated as well as any fixes that have been proven to function and not fail with the parking brake on as well. Thanks in advance for your time!
