Hi everyone,
We are starting the process of planning our trip for 2014.  Planning to travel from Fort Worth, Texas to Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Yellowstone, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon and then back home.  Probably 3-4 weeks or so.  We would love any suggestions you have on best places to camp, length of stay at each venue in order to really see it, scenic routes, anything to avoid, etc. and any other things that might be helpful.  Also, best time of year.

Thanks!  Jim and Dena

Three to four weeks will not be enough to "really see" all the areas you have listed. We have spent longer than that in the Zion, Bryce, Monument Valley area and still not seen it all. Here are some of the places in that area that we have visited and enjoyed: Cedar Breaks National Monument, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Escalante Petrified Forest State ParkKodachrome Basin State ParkAnasazi State Park, UT-12 Scenic BywayUT-12 Backways, Capitol Reef National ParkGoosenecks State Park, Hovenweep National Monument, Natural Bridges National MonumentBluff FortSouth Fork of Mule Canyon, The Valley of The Gods, Edge of the Cedars State Park, Blanding Dinosaur Museum.

You will need more than 3 weeks. We live in Dallas, made the trip last August to Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore--was gone approx. 6 weeks. Enjoy your trip--both places are  awesome.
