Anyone install a rear-view/backup camera on their fiver, how was it to install, wich brand? I have a 08' dodge 3500 diesel dually and a 38' daydreamer, our acadia has the camera in the rearview mirror and iv'e really come to count on when i'm hooking up my 12' haulmark tool trailer and i wondered if there was a product that i could install in the truck that had both a camera on the tailgate of the truck for hooking up the tool trailer and a second camera to mount on the rear of my fiver, thanks in advance.

Here's what I'm thinking about getting. This uses a magnet so you can easily move it from the truck to the trailer.

I bought a Winplus wireless camera for my tool trailer and it's garbage,$140 dow the tubes,i'm going with a wired system, thanks for your opinion though.

I have one of these units with the 7 " screen.  http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2009/07/product-review-peak-wireless-back-up-camera-system/
I use it mostly for my work trailer for hooking up...works great ! It is a clear screen and reliable. However, the supplied (15 ft) cable was too short for my 5th. I contacted the supplier and they shipped an additional 25 ft extention. I zap strap the camera to the roof rails on the 5th wheel focusing downward and back giving a good view of traffic behind and aids in backing up as well.
Notes: 1) conections are NOT water tight use shrinke tube or tape to water proof. 2) cameras in this price range only boast 'water resistant' so after a few take a parts to dry it out...I used 'liquid tape' to water proof the camera. 3) zap strap the cable to items running over the roof as well down to the king pin box.
I mounted the sending unit under the truck box cap rail... must keep it dry as well.
Hope this helps

Wired systems for trailers are available from
http://www.rearviewsafety.com/index.php/ (Where I bought mine)
http://www.rvcams.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=RBCARVS

In both cases they can supply connectors to go between the tow vehicle & trailer...
Installed a licence plate cam (wireless) on our Cougar 325 SRX, it works, however does have interference.  I can see if there is anything behind me, however it blinks out every few seconds.  It's like 50' from the monitor to the camera, a bit 2 far...  I'm going to move the antenna portion of the camera around, basically pulling the extra wire out of the tail-light lens that has the antenna in it, will see if that helps.

I bought my camera from RV Cams. Inc. in Baton Rouge (877)378-2267. I hard wired it via a plug on my F-350 to the 7" color monitor in the cab. I can report I would recommend this unit to anyone. I am extremely satisfied with the system and have had no problems of any kind since I installed it three years ago.
