Hey guys, im just looking for a lil bit of direction. I had the superglide hitch installed in my Tundra and the capture plate welded on my kingpin. I purchased a '11 250 this weekend and cant install my superglide in it as they do not make mounting plates yet so i will be purchasing a reese manual slider this time. I was wondering if anyone has ever grinded off their welds to remove the capture plate and how did it come out?

if you are good with a grinder and grind away the welds you should be ok just try not to get into the hitch itself, good luck

Would i be better just buying the adapter that allows a regular hitch to tow with the capture plate on, or just grind it off?
