Hi all!

Just wondering if anyone has tried this project before. The unit I am currently working on now will go on a permanent site and we will have a cooling unit hooked up and will no longer need the roof ac. My wife thought about a skylight in place of the roof ac. I am interested in others thoughts and if anyone has done this before. Thanks!

The footprint for the air conditioner is simply the standard 14" by 14" vent opening.  Rather than fabricating a skylight, why not just install a standard vent with a clear (or opaque) lid.  Seems to me to be both an easy and functional solution.  If you are actually thinking of enlarging the opening, proceed with caution.
