Replacing trim below door on Thor Axis

Frozen ruts last winter broke the plastic trim below my entry door. I removed the trim but need to replace it with something more durable. This piece slides under the aluminum sill and over the trim on either side of the door. What are my DIY options?

I'm not getting the mental image of the piece you want. Some sort of rounded or tapered transition from the door bottom up to the lower side wall edge? Or some sort of trim cover over that lower door frame? Is it just cosmetic? How about a piece of right angle steel or aluminum? Or diamond plate?
