Hi,

I am brand new to RVing (I bought a brand new Northstar TC800 two days ago) and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone on the forum.

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra with a HD tow package, and although the RV is right at the weight limit, the truck handles well and there is about 3 inches of clearance from the axle stops.

I took off the HappiJacks to save about a 120 lbs or so of weight, and plan on always traveling dry, and leveling the truck with the use of boards.

Regards to All,

RickRv

Have fun and let us know how it works out.  Watch the axle and tire loads as they matter the most... maybe think about tires with a little extra weight capacity to buy you some safety margin if you are running over 90% of the rating of what you have now.

Even with my 3/4 ton I have trouble with lateral sway.  There are some aftermarket sway bars that are supposed to help with that and at some point I may get one.  Something to consider if it isn't as stable as you might like.
