Route From Cody SD to Hermosa South Dakota

Hi All,I'm new here.looking forward to being here.My husband and I are full-timers for 2 years now. Have a class A 40 ft. Monaco Camelot..We are currently in Cody WY.headed to Heartland RV Park in Hermosa South Dakota off 79..
For those of u that have traveled this route in 40 ft Diesel what is the best route take.We want to avoid as much mountainous climbing as possible and avoid hwy 16..what do u suggest? TIA,Janice

If you are determined to not take US16 across the mountains (it is a gorgeous route), take 14 to Graybull then south on 16 then 20 to Thermopolis then 26 to Casper. That gets you to I-25. Go north to I-90. A lot longer than directly across the Bighorns, but an easy route.

Another route-from Casper, come to Douglas, then hang a left at Orin Junction. Another left in Lusk. Head north to Mule Creek Junction. Right there to Edgemont, on through Hot Springs. Left at Maverick Junction and almost there! Wide 2 Lane roads, lotsa places to stop and beautiful scenery.
