RV being wrapped
A minor matter has come to light 10 mins ago.  They only just realised it has a slideout!!  Panic has ensued, it seems.  :(
Just curious Dougie, how did the deal with/resolve this issue?

I must admit (hanging my head) that I was skeptical about a wrap, but it appears that you made a good choice, and this should help others in the future.

They told me to stop worrying and they'll sort it.  It's only two small extra areas which the designer has run off the vinyls for, in keeping with the side. That's what I like about these guys - they're straight up and down.

They key - as with most things - is to find someone you can trust to do a proper job.  The product is made by 3M/Avery and is proven mainly in the commercial market which is obviously far tougher then the RV world. Even for an older motorhome like ours, the financial outlay isn't overwhelming if you intend to keep it and enjoy it.

This is the good place for a temperature test!

We'll be spending the majority of our time in Arizona from next year, which the designer picked up on and influenced the design with the use of white to reflect the sunlight.  We wouldn't have thought of that. :)

Presumably, that's the 'ends' of the slideout. I was envisioning something 'different' around the 'hole' for the slideout but, in retrospect, that would/should be a non-issue; They just cut the wrap around the hole.

That's correct Tom. They already cut the surround round the edges despite not realizing it was a slide out (they're not RV specialists, to be fair). We've had lots of jokes today about the slideout acting like an elastic band when trying to extend it. ;D. They had in fact trimmed it round the panels though.

I'm not familiar with wrapping but the way I see it, every square in of the rig will be covered. Is that right.  ::)

It's a vinyl covering which is applied to however much of your vehicle you want.  Common applications are taxi cabs, tractor units, trailers, vans etc.  It's removable as & when you come to sell or whatever.

Job's done! :D Went to collect the coach this morning and spent a couple of fun hours helping the guys finish the detailing (refit awning etc.) before driving off into the sunset (well, afternoon gloom, lol) feeling like we'd gotten a new coach.  It's freakin' awesome.  Truly.

They did an awesome job on it, looks great. Looks like a brand new coach. That was probably cheaper than a paint job too. What do you have to do to care for it now?

It was cheaper than a paint job, plus the fact that a paint job wasn't possible due to the wear on the original jell coat.  Painting it - I was reliably told by two firms who declined my money - would have still shown the tiny crazing underneath.

Maintenance consists of water with or without detergent, no polish needed.  It really does look like a new coach, even close up. I did a double-take this afternoon coming out the supermarket, producing yet another WOW. ?

outstanding!

I've seen city busses wrapped with this stuff, windows and all.  when i first started reading this thread the other day that's what I was expecting..... some lawyer's face larger than life on the side of your RV

Seriously, seems like a great idea.
I'm curious what they are telling you about removal of the stuff.  When the time comes due to fading, or just scratching and wear... and you want to replace the stuff, are they saying it comes off easy so you can redo it fresh if you want a few years down the road?

I did contemplate the face thing actually until I mentioned it to my Better Half.  :-\  3M state that it will come easily without damaging the paint if you need to do it. I watched them work with the product and the installer said it's the best on the market. He's worked with plenty over the years.  I'm not planning to remove mine though.  ;)

Here she is.  Those damn ladders are going on the roof later this week.
