Ours was replaced within a week of filling out the form. The old one was picked up by FedEx at our front gate and returned without charge. And yes, it was standard practice in my department to have the first in truck company either pull the meter, or locate the breaker panal in the house and open the main as soon as possible. Also, the ?water can? extinguisher referenced above should not be used for grease, oil or gas fires, as well as electrical fires. It can, however, do a fine job of soaking down the rookies during episodes of what is now referred to as ?hazing?.
