Sanity check

I dont think your crazy at all. Just be aware that you might want to build in a small extra cushion if that perfect RV appears and they wont go below 12k. I would also find a good mechanic that can check engine and transmission and maybe a friend that owns an RV to help you check the systems. System failure on the road is a minor annoyance but drivetrain failure is a major pain in the wallet. Towing is expensive and finding someone that can work on it in less than a week is sometimes a trick in itself. There is nothing like having your home in the shop while the family is crammed in a hotel room waiting on a part. Of course this can happen in a new RV too but more likely in a 20 year old one, particularly if the majority of the mileage was put on in the first few years and it has sat as a guest house for the last 10.
