My prior trusted wading boots have studs that I screwed into the soles. I recently acquired a pair of Simms lightweight (flyweight) boots with Vibram soles. I've read that some folks install studs, some cleats, some a combination, and others nothing. What's the current thinking?
FWIW I've used these new boots several times without studs or cleats.
