Check out Waze. Friends told us about it. Users, like yourself input road conditions, accidents, traffic backups, etc. It has a lot of other info also. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Ditto for Allstays!!!

Skyguide is a lot of fun on the road.
Not an app per se, but I think Siri is the greatest thing since sliced bread when travelling. Being able to ask my phone to do things for me while behind the wheel cuts down on distraction dramatically.

I agree, and if you are really really bored, you can ask siri really strange questions and be entertained by the answers... for example, siri, will you marry me?
