My RV is wired for 50 amp, our seasonal camp site only have 30 amp connections. My question is do I get a 30 amp surge protector and connect directly to the electrical box, or do I i get a 50 amp and use an adapter to connect to the box?
I would say get a Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C with Portable Electrical Management System - 50 Amp https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003AN1UA8?psc=1and wire it in system than you use your 30M/50F AMP Electrical Adapter. It would work for both 30 ad 50 amp.
With surge protectors there are two options
Go with the size of the RV's power cord (50 amps in this case)
or Go with 50 amps in the anticipation of upgrading your "House" some day.
