I guess that settles the question on Nitrogen. I followed Gary's link; I never set the cruise control  over 62 mph, so I don't qualify as an aircraft or space shuttle, therefore no need for nitrogen in the tires. Thanks, remind me not to bring this subject again.
 
first of all "STRAIGHT DOPE" come on what kind of name is that to take seriously? anyway the only benefit I see is this. many, many, many shops neglect their air compressors, that is until they stop working, the nitro would lessen the problem with having your tires filled with air, and alot of moisture that comes along with compressor neglect ;D
