travel conditions from Houston to north Florida on I-10

we will be traveling on I-10 from Houston around the first of Dec--need to know about road conditions and are the campgrounds full because of the previous bad weather in the coastal areas? we will take I-12 around New Orleans--thanks for the info-------

I 10 is fine cant tell ya about rv parks though.  There is a new one along 10 more toward the west than east that is supposed to be quite large.  Good luck and have a good trip.

Get updated construction info on I-12 east of Baton Rouge around the Hammond area. Try to stay out of the area From LaFayette to Hammond around rush hour 4-7PM it gets nuts! Make sure you have plenty of fuel when driving through Louisiana from either direction. We stop Just off I-10 at Gulfport, MS when we make this trip from east to west and fill up before we get to Lake Charles in Texas on the west to east run. The area around the Mississippi Bridge at Baton Rouge is still a back up 24/7 but take it slow and easy and you'll do fine. The campgrounds are still short on spaces but make reservations ahead of time and you'll know you got a space.

My books are still outside in the coach so can't remember the great park we saw in Biloxi  but had to stay around the bend as the whole coast was full with street rods. I believe it was called Lake Side RV Park but I''ll go get my book and make sure
