I'm signing on from Mpls, MN, and getting ready to retire soon. I'm trying to decide on the tow vehicle for about a 30' TT (probably an Airstream).

I plan to snowbird, and park the trailer while I vancamp, which is why I'm looking at a 3/4 or 1 ton.

Your comments are appreciated, and also as to gas or diesel.

Thanks.

Oh, here's my blog.

I am not too sure what you are asking here.  If you go van by all means go with the Ford E-350 wiht the 6.0L turbo diesel.  It has a tow rating of 10,000 lbs with the 4.10 rear end and will pull a 9000 lb GVWR trailer where ever you want to go.

The advantage of pickups is they can have higher tow ratings.  The equivalent F-350 with a 6.4L TD will have a tow rating of 12,500 lbs with a crew cab, a 3.73 and 4WD.
