Our washing machine keeps a lot of moisture and has a bad smell every time I open it. Any suggestions/help on controlling the moisture and/or the smell?
I'd run an empty wash cycle with some bleach or vinegar added, to kill off any mold that might be lurking inside. Chlorox (and others) has a product especially for this but plain old bleach works.

And here is an article on washing machine odors:

At our home, once a year, we throw in a packet of washing machine cleaner made by Tide. We've had this front loader since 2004 and have never had a smell issue.
Our daughter constantly complained about her front loader washer smelling. Got so bad she gave us practically new washer and dryer, we cleaned the boot between the door and drum. Now we clean after each washing. No smell ever.
It's time for new washer and dryer, so if anyone has a new smelly set we're game. Haha
