The first Generator I ever worked on was in a Soft Serve Ice Cream Truck.. I have no idea how old it was but it was very well used since it ran basically 8 hours a day or longer every summer day.. It put 3 kids through college after I got done working on it.

DId not start, Did not even Crank when I showed up.> Found a bolt rusted and a wire disconnected.. Re-attached and it fired right up  Made Electricity. Soft Serve, and killed mosquitoes all at the same time :) (Burned more oil than Gas. Like I said OLD and well used)  Owner took it to a mechanic (Since I'd Done the electrical work) to get the Ring Job.  Actually a bit imprssive.

I keep my propane topped off and carry an extra 30 pound tank in the storage compartment.
BTW, I installed a kit so I can hook up to an outside tank.
I have a 20 pound tank at home to use for running the Generac propane Generator under load every 30-40 days.
On the road it gets used plenty.
