This reminds me of one of the funniest (and proudest) times I had when I was driving our 37 foot MH through Culiacan, Mexico, a city of about 600,000 folks in 1995. I somehow managed to stumble upon rush-hour. I was driving and my hubby was sleeping (and missed it all!). As the traffic was progressing so slowly several people on the sidewalk noticed I was driving and stared and pointed. I tried to look nonchalant, don't think I succeeded too well. The best though was when a carload of college age girls passed on my left and waved and cheered. Lots of "way to go" signals. Should have awakened the hubby but knew he'd panic when he saw all the traffic I'd driven into. It really felt good though.
On a serious note though it really is important that you at least feel comfortable behind the wheel in case you have an emergency. I really don't want to end up having to ask someone to move our motorhome because I'm too scared to drive it. It helps though that I enjoy driving most vehicles.
