There is someone in my town looking to rent a Class A for 2 weeks and is willing to pay $2500, and says the following:

Will pay in advance. Will give security deposit. Will cover under my insurance.

I'm not using mine for at least 2 months, and $2500 for 2 weeks sounds great, but......sounds a little to go to be true.

Would you do it?

I wouldn't rent my unused RV to my mother or my best friend, much less a total stranger. Too many rented RVs end up deep in the forest as a portable meth lab.

Most RV insurance companies consider renting your RV out as a business adventure and will not cover the RV if it is used as business.  Also I'm thinking the person thinks they can add your RV to their auto insurance coverage, which would not work.

Never. And if for some reason you decided to, I would double check on the insurance. Usually if something happens, it's the owner's insurance that covers first.

SeilerBird is spot on.......... Besides....... oh.... never mind....... I think it's been said.

I would rent mine out...for 2 x NADA high retail value...per week...plus 25% nonrefundable deposit...and renter must pass a background check.  ::) :)

Thanks for the replies, folks.  I was tempted but there is too much to go wrong.  Defiantly not worth it.

Three questions from renters as a warning sign.....

1. How large is the propane tank?
2. Is it full?
3. Is there a tee connection?
;D

Bob, you funny guy, you're obviously not up on meth cooking techniques. The propane tank in meth cooking is used as a storage vessel for anhydrous ammonia. It needs to be portable in order to take it to the railyard/farmers yard/etc to steal the ammonia, so most motorhomes with fixed tanks are a poor choice. There are newer techniques that don't need the ammonia though.

Now if you had asked about the supply of coffee filters I might have believed. Shoot, I bet you still have teeth.  ;D

I guess I should really stir the pot by adding that I know all this from my former job........

It would take cash, up front, in an amount that was equal to or above what I would sell it for. That way if I never saw it again, I would be out nothing.

I will not be holding my breath on that one.

Or as the set for a porno movie..... (as I found out last time this subject came up)  :)

my question would be is if you have $2500 to spend for two weeks why not go rent an rv from one of those places that actually rents rv!!!!!!
