Hello,
I just bought my first camper, a 2009 Coachman SOA 29QBS. Looking for repair info, where to find manuals I don't have and where to go to get info on maintenance, repairs, etc...

Jeff

Welcome to the Forum. Most likely you will never find a 'manual'. You will find different manuals for different appliances, and spend a bit of time up in the library for some great tips and pointers on maintenance. Certainly helps to be a bit handy. One very important maintenance is clean the roof, inspect, and get some RV roof caulk and (Dicor is one brand) and go over every caulk area and potential leak. Water leaks can destroy an RV quickly. Next, keep the tires in good shape, less than 7-8 years old, and grease the wheel bearings. A lot of 'how often' depends on your use patterns.

Hi there, thanks for those links.
I have a Coachmen SOA 29QBS
I need the Dometic Manual for a AC Unit.
The propane heater has a Dometic thermostat that has AC or Heat

First off, look inside all of the wardrobe doors and see if there isn't an equipment list with the make and model of all the appliances. My Winnebago, Thor and Bigfoot all had equipment lists glued inside the wardrobe door.

The fridge ID is probably just inside the door, and the water heater ID also will be just inside the outer door. The stove requires removing the top, most of them you push back real hard and disengage the spring clips in the back and slide the top forward to get it off. The furnace will require removing the outside access to find the ID plate and the A/C will require removing the air inlet/outlet (assuming it does not have a ducted system). Its an Easter egg hunt to find all of the ID plates but very necessary to get the right manuals. In addition to basic install and operation manuals, usually 6 to 10 pages, there are service manuals which will be handy such as the Atwood water heater service manual.

Jfls,
Good for you!!
Now that you have that, go online and locate and print the manuals for everything. Then either punch them and put them a ring binder or get a file folder to store them.
Next, start a page to record the maintenance issue and dates.

I realize this 1/2 ton truck I have won't last long hauling this around. So I'm looking for a F250 or a Silverado 2500. I can't find that many Dodge Rams available in my area.

Any thoughts anyone?

The spec I found lists empty weight of the 2009 Coachman SOA 29QBS at 6,210# 1 with a payload of 2,712# for a total of 8,922.

My Dodge Ram Classic 1500 2WD has a tow rating of about 8,600#

What does your door sticker say about towing weights and GCVWR?

If you watch the laden weight of the trailer you should be OK for a while but I definitely agree you are at the top end of what your truck can probably pull.
