What Did You Do To Your RV This Week?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an RV or an interest in RVing!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Installed the new 400W inverter today. 15 minute job. Gave the vanity area a good scrub up.

Got the power washer up on the roof and after a 25% done the power washer quit with smoke coming from the plug - 😳😬😳😭😭😭

Don't know why but the plug melted into the extension cord. Good quality outdoor cord.

Finished washing the roof with a stiff push broom and a regular hose nozzle. RV is parked under an Oak tree and it's been humid as heck here the last month. Lots of green mold and leaves.

RV is too level. 3 areas are pooling which isn't good news. Tilted the RV a little to the driver's side to drain the roof.

I hope the power washer is just a new plug end. Hope I can find one with the GFCI if not the plug in I use is a GFCI socket. I think that would be OK?
Do you actually climb up on the roof or do you just power wash it on a ladder?

Installed a fan in the fridge. Hope to cut down on the fins freezing up. Oh yeah, also added a thermometer to the fridge since I thought it was running top cold.
When I was in the HVAC business, we always set beer coolers to 36 degrees. MY MH refrigerator resides at 34 degrees and almost requires me to thaw a beer out before enjoying it. :)

My dash A/C is pretty weak - 1996 P30. I charged the system but still does not blow that cold. I bought a dryer but it was the wrong configuration.

Do you have pics of you dryer install and the P/N if the one you used? Also the P/N of the expansion valve if you changed that as well.
They used varying size fittings on drier bottles. Mine has the fittings 180 of each other and both are male 18mm.

Expansion valve was not changed. You certian you have no leak/s? When replacing the o-rings use Nylog on them.

You can see my AC condenser/oil cooler work here:

Total R-134a Refrigerant charges for various vehicle/chassis are shown below:

I go on the roof. It's a good time to have a look around and check things out.

We are parked under an oak tree. When we get some time we are gonna string a tarp up to hopefully save the roof from getting littered.

What is the pressure on your power washer?

What is the pressure on your power washer?
3500 psi @ 3gpm - It takes some technique but I use about a 30* spray pattern and try not to get too close to the surface. - maybe 12-18 inches. mossy and moldy stuff comes right off. The black sooty road stuff takes some finessing and that's where you can get tempted to get close.

Note there is a difference between a "power washer" and a pressure washer when you are buying. Power washers are lower psi and more focused on car washing and general cleaning.

You can damage stuff quick with a pressure washer.

But it's not a panacea. I will pressure wash my truck using the soapy suds attachment and if I hand wash afterwards I still get some soot (white truck). Unless you wanna blow your paint off you really have to sponge and soap vehicles.

Made sure the MH was ready for the annual nature windy wash (hurricane Ian).
1. Fridge loaded with emergency supplies
a. Beer. b. Vodka. c. hot dogs & chili
2. Pantry full of chips & dip (also 1 MRE)
3. Fuel full & generator ready
4. Call friends for hurricane party
5. Send wife to stay with sister for safety (my safety)

Not a big deal, but worked on my blue boy. It's really important to me because my resort hookups don't include sewer. Have to tow the waste to a nearby dump station. One of the pneumatic tires was flat and wouldn't take any air. Toughest part of the job was prying off the end cap holding the wheel on the axle. Best part of the fix was going to Harbor Freight to buy a replacement wheel. Of course, I ended up buying more items than the wheel. So, best day of the week, so far.

Started on this.

Last couple of weeks, replaced all top bulb (D) seals and two vertical slide wipe seals. Today, cleaned the roof.
Ain't RV's fun😁😁

Got my NYS Heavy Inspection this AM. $20.00(y) Up through this year the shops are logging the vehicle info in a book. New regs next year puts it all computerized. Stickers are placed outside the vehicle now, next year they will go on the inside of the windshield. Cost to the shop is over $4500.00 for the change. Still no emissions or connection to the OBD vehicle port.

Kevin replaced the motor in the footrest of the passenger chair in our rig. He took out the old one a few days ago, found a replacement, and it now works!

We're cleaning and winterizing our 5th wheel. We're also getting it ready for another extended trip in January. We haven't decided where we're going yet.

Started installing the trailer brake controller in the motor home. Today I get to crawl underneath and run the brake and 12v lines back to the trailer plug. That ought to be fun for an old fat guy.

We prepped the RV (and property) for potential bug out due to Hurricane Ian. Looks like we are not gonna have to bail out though...

Ian turned back east...
