Opinion please:  We have found this 5th Wheel, 2014 Denali, model # 319 RLS that appears to fit our "want" for workamping in the near future.  Do any of you have yeas or nays about this brand?  We haven't physically seen it, only pictures.  Love the floor plan!  Practically new.

I also have a general question.  If a 5th wheel is labeled as 35 foot length, is that from tip to tip or is that how many feet are actually behind the truck?

It's not the length behind the truck, since a good chunk of the trailer overlaps the truck bed.  The 35 ft may be the floor plan length (basically usable floor space), or it may be the overall length (nose to rear bumper), depending on the context. In a spec sheet, the Length OverAll (LOA) is usually identified that way. Interior space is often embedded in the floor plan Id, e.g. a 30RK wood be a 30 footer inside, and the LOA a bit more.  That's merely a common way to designate a model, though. Each manufacturer has his own schema.

And that 35' may be closer to 37' if you put a tape measure on it. As for the amount of trailer over the bed of the truck, that would vary greatly by manufacture. On the average it could be 4-6' in the bed of the truck. If length is a concern for you, take your truck down and hook it up to the rig before you buy it.

SargeW, that's makes sense what you and Gary have said.  The owner was saying it was 37 feet and when I looked up the specs, it was listed as 35'.
