24V midi-heki skylight

I am having problems with the midi-heki skylight in my 2017 24V.  it will not open unless i raise it about 6" with a broom handle and then the electric motor will lift and lower.  Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it.  I can not find anything online showing how to repair these units.

Maybe just clean & lube the mechanism? It sounds like the motor works but can't overcome the initial friction.  Pushing with the broom gives it enough assist to run.

Does it have a manual open feature? Has it ever worked properly and then it didn't? Is this a new-to-you RV?

I've never heard of that brand before.

It's a Dometic product, but I have zero experience with it and haven't seen any feedback about it here or on IRV2.
