28ft Carefree Awning

Wondering if you folks can help me out. I have a Itasca 42ft QD. I have replaced both Awning Topper Fabrics on the passenger side with no problems. I am trying to replace the Topper Fabric on the driver side slide which is 28 ft long. It appears that there are 2-14 ft sections connected in the center of the slide. I can release the Guard on one end and cannot figure out how to release the center where the 2-14 sections come together. I have released the slide latches in the center of each 14 ft section. I appreciate any help you can recommend.

I hope this helps. The SOK III XL may be what you have. Hopefully the diagrams will help you figure it out.

I appreciate everyone's help. I finally got it figured out and replaced all my awning toppers.1-15FT, 1-8FT and 1-28FT. The 28FT was little tougher. You will need 2 people. It is not a 1 man job.

Kevin, let me know when you get ready to change your toppers and I will give you the details since we have
the same year Coach and Floor Plan.
