5th wheel to gooseneck adapter

Anyone using an adaptor to connect their 5th wheel trailer to a gooseneck hitch?  I saw one called the Cody Coupler or something and was wondering if this was a good or safe thing to to do.

1999 Jayco 5th wheel 33 foot.
2000 Ford F350 with currently installed goosneck.

We've had several people here report doing so and all seemed happy. I've heard the Cody mentioned here as one of the popular brands.

I'm not aware of any unique warranty issues that would be likely to result. However, you are always responsible for providing a "proper" hitch for the trailer's kingpin and anything other than a standard fifth wheel hitch, i.e. a type commonly used by the majority of fifth wheel haulers, could become an issue if there is a problem with the trailer's kingpin or stress damage to the trailer's structure. Ultimately the use of a gooseneck should also be judged to be a standard hitch methodology, but you might not want to endure the hassle and time to win the fight.

I have to say that I am not a lawyer and am not giving professional advice - its just my personal opinion.
