This is the best idea so far Cynthia. Pricey but good.DearMissMermaid said:I've seen them self-built with PVC and canvas. Or just buy the steel frame minus the roof and cover with canvas.

My slide toppers are not hooked up so this might be the best solution. I am completely shaded so it won't reduce cooling costs.Sun2Retire said:This would also extend the life of the roof and protect the slides (maybe you wouldn't need the slide toppers). If you're not already completely shaded could slightly reduce cooling costs too.

I was under an oak tree one winter. Every time I would drive to the grocery store, the roof sounded like a thousand marbles rolling off of it.
How about an RV port?

Don't know about Tom's cats but our cat and dog did freak out with every batch of acorns and even with heavy rain. The cat would hide is the smallest place she could find and the dog would just whine. The dog eventually went deaf - she was already blind. I don't know if the noise is what caused it but can imagine that if you are blind and sudden noises keep startling you, it must be terrible. Their and our situation with that noise was one reason we decided to move and another reason that our current home has no oak trees anywhere close to the house.kdbgoat said:I just hope your cats don't freak out from the acorns hitting the roof.
SeilerBird said:Fortunately I am in no hurry since the acorns won't be falling until fall time.
It would work for me but what about the cats? ???Rene T said:Tom, I've got the only idea that will actually work:

No Caryl that will not work. One of the big reasons I moved to this spot is because it is so shady. The chainsaw defeats that purpose.cadee2c said:
