Interesting perspective. I had never even considered a mechanical compressor fridge in an RV because of the power requirements. However, times and technology change, I guess. The big TT we have now I would have never considered 10 years ago either.

I've had residential refrigerators in my RVs for about 10 years now.  The only difference is the larger double door refrigerators now use about the same amount of electricity as the single door apartment size refrigerators I installed. 

In other words, about 100 amp-hours, or the usable capacity of two golf cart batteries per day.  At that point boondocking is just a matter of adding additional batteries and either offsetting the use by solar cells or running the generator for a couple of hours per day.
