Ae power awning

I'm having a problem with the awning. It opens fine but when I go to close it, it'll close half way then stop. I have to wait a few mins and it'll close a little again. I have to do that to get it to fully close

Sounds like something is binding while closing causing the motor to stall and trip out. Could also be a faulty overload protection device.

Our problem was similar and was a weak connection to power near where the controller was located.
