Alpine coach entrance doors

I thought I was right down to making a final decision on a 36 alpine when I noticed the door is much smaller looking than the 40. Is this Correct? Is it an optical illusion or is it SUPER narrow at the top?

Anyone with first hand experience, or a measuring tape?

What years of 36 vs 40?  They may have changed entry door size somewhere along the line.

I gather you aren't present to measure yourself. Can you ask the seller to get out a tape measure to help?
