About to leave on a jaunt to the southwest (TX, OK, NM, CO, etc). Looked at the Verizon map and it looks like coverage is pretty sparse for digital National access. Thinking about getting a phone card to supplement Verizon and wifi.

Which of the PCMCIA phone card providers have the best coverage in the area?

Does each service provider have a separate PCMCIA card? If I get a card, can I change to another provider and use the same card or will I have to buy another card??

Thanks

We live in Cortez, heart of the Four Corners and have Verizon America's Choice. It's the best coverage you can get in this area unless you're on the reservation where it is pretty crappy. A lot of the folks who live on the reservation buy a TracFone. We have had Verizon for a long time and are still on a plan that allows us to make calls in the "grey" areas and pay roaming charges (as opposed to the newer plans where you get NO reception in the grey areas).
