Firstly did any of the coach builders upgrade the shocks to these rigs from factory? My Chevy based Express 3500/7.4 is reaching 100K and could probably use new shocks. Monroe Magnums
perhaps?
Bilstein or KYB are my personal faves, though I'm unsure if they make anything for the Express. If not, Monroe. Agree with IB, stick with their higher end products.
Check out Rock Auto. For budget stuff, I've used Gabriel in the past with good results. I agree with the above that Bilstein is a very good brand; I've had good experience with their B6 line and the 5100 series.
If the shocks in your motorhome are stock or just haven't been changed in the last 50-100k, pretty much anything you put in there will probably help it ride better.
I suspect that shocks are one of the most neglected items that impact the handling of an RV. I have always preferred Bilstein shocks but quality is much more important then brand. I have friends who say Koni.
