Buying engine supplies

I saw this on another forum and wondering if there are comments here?

You do not have to go to Cummins to buy supplies. Any local Freightliner
dealer has all you need and it is much less in price. I buy all my filters
at freightliner. They can discount things, cummins cannot."

Personally I have not found this to be the case.  I once purchased filters in the Freightliner place in Phoenix after I was told they would be less cost.  Turns out they were a some higher than what I paid for the same filters in SLC Cummins and quite a bit more than I paid the last time at a Cummins shop.  Were talking the same set of filters Oil, coolant, and two different fuel filters.  Guess you just have to check it out in your area.
