I have had the problem of the outside mirrors tilting down as I drive. The fix involved black electrical tape and 3/8" nylon rope first wrapped rope around post for mirror then covered with tape. This has to be repeated a couple of times to get the correct diameter to prevent mirror tilting. It worked on my last drive home. The only drawback is the mirror in not able to tilt down unless you remove the tape. Considering it's the type of mirror with not adjustment to corect the probelm only option is new mirror which wont match the other one with sun fading and weather. For about .50 I saved several hundred dollars 8) ;D
