Is that town a snowbird destination area?

Are any of our forum members hanging out there for the winter?

Apreliminary report published Friday morning shows three people were killed Thursday evening in a fiery crash when a small plane smashed into a mobile home park in Clearwater, Florida.

The Federal Aviation Administration’s report lists three fatalities, one among the flight crew and two people inside the home. The crash happened at 7:27 p.m. ET on Thursday.

It is a Mobile & Modular park and I don't recall any RV's permanent or snowbird set up there. It is considered a high end location and many of the homes are along the water of Tampa Bay.
It is very near the Clearwater Costco, and next to a higher end golf course. We drive past it no less than weekly as the Costco exit off of a main HWY takes you past the front entrance, it is about 5 or 6 miles north of us.
To answer the other question, yes Clearwater is a very touristy area, but I have not met any Framily who live or winter in the park. There are some RV parks nearby though on the other side of US 19, an elevated major HWY.

Late yesterday there was further information about the crash. Apparently the planed left Vero Beach, which is on the Atlantic Coast about 150 mile east of the crash site. There were 9 ladies who were at the mobile for supper following a golf game, all but one left after the meal, and that one stayed behind to help the owner clean up, those 2 were killed almost instantaneously when the plane hit the mobile home. Her husband identified her to the police from jewelry recovered.
