Hi all, we are planning out first extended trip with our 29ft TT from the Syracuse NY area to Maine with a 2-3 night stopover either direction. Any advice out there about routes to consider (or more importantly AVOID) on this trip? We prefer a more leisurely pace on side roads as opposed to major highways, if at all possible.
Thanks!!

Extended trip, as in 6 weeks to several months, or just more than a weekend trip?

Assuming you have a tow vehicle you don't mind towing with on good 2 lane hwys, with some hills and curves, just follow major state roads and US highways.  Any of these roads are usually in good condition.

With 3 night, 4 travel days, I would suggest making one stop along the way.  Pick out some place you would like to spend ONE FULL day looking around.  This means the first day, drive to ??? spend 2 nights and the last day to continue to North Berwick.

Mt Washington is a good place to spend a full day exploring.

We were in that area last fall. I have always enjoyed Rt100 in Vermont ... runs north to south right up the middle of the state. Beautiful streams and lakes.

Hi there.  Not sure about the secondary roads you might want from syr to albany, but from there to N. Berwick there are a few good options.  Try putting in your starting and ending points on Google Maps, usually, there are at least 3 route suggestions, with travel times shown.  The area you will cover from the eastern border of NY to N. Berwick will have great scenery.
