A dolly is my choice, I don't know what I'll be towing. I tend to be a slow car flipper. I buy an older used car that either has so many deferred repairs the owner just wants to get rid of it. I do the repairs myself drive it for a year or two and sell it. I try to work it out so that the actual cost to me for purchase and repair comes to $1000 dollars or less per year of my ownership. Plus somebody who needs an inexpensive reliable used car gets one from me.
Another reason is I'm from the rust belt along the New England coast. Cars are a big hobby up here. I'm thinking that rust free vintage daily drivers from the southwest could be hauled north as a toad and sold up here, before heading back south. I don't expect a profit so much as to help pay for the fuel.
