After the awning securing (see this thread - Awnings in the wind . . . ) Which only took about 30-40 minutes we launched on a tour of the area.

We had tacos for lunch at my favorite little Latin Bodega just down the road from my property. After lunch I gave Don a tour of the property which basically allowed me to boast about my ranch building prowess and show Don the many broken things that I am promising myself to fix, rejuvenate, restore or rebuild. Trust me I have enough projects to keep me going for many years - LOL...

The main attraction was a hike at the Suwannee River State park.

We did the 3-mile "Balanced Rock" trail and the slightly humorous part was when we got to the "Balanced Rock" it had actually fallen over - I was very tempted to grab a Marks a Lot and add a "Un" to the information plaque at the site...

My kid has been hassling me to get the little 14 foot fishing boat in the water so tomorrow we are gonna drag the boat down to a small lake near here and have a picnic and some boating, if we can get the boat to start when we get there.

Stay tuned!

Looks like you are near where my ex-wife was living the last time I heard, Fort White, FL (her father and some of her brothers retired there)

Part 1 - Apparently forum software won't allow more than 3 embedded vids.

Today was picnic day! We decided to haul my 14 foot "tinnie" as the Aussies call an aluminum boat. The boat was the second thing I hauled to Florida last Feb and it hasn't been in the water. My kid wants to take his gal on the Suwannee River so today was a good opportunity to ops check the boat. Don even got a turn at the tiller while Blue contemplated illegaly fishing off the transom (see photo - LOL)

Part 2

Don brought his "magic" electric bike and I gotta say this thing is pretty cool. Both Josh (my kid) and I got a turn riding it. We also brought my 250 Enduro. The electric bike has 3 "modes" - econ, sport and custom. We rode it in econ and of course I had to do a head to head comparison. My kid was on the electric with his GF and probably go 250# combined. I was solo on the enduro and go about 235. We didn't intend to "race" but we both turned off a dirt rode to a blacktop with me in trail. I gunned and he pretty much gunned it. I kept up until the shift to 3rd then it was no contest. They beat the enduro soundly though about 55mph.

In sport mode they probably woulda got my right from the line - Bottom line, lots of torque, no noise, no clutch, no gas, plugs, filters or anything else to mess with. Aside from the huge difference in price the electric bike is really cool. Here's a couple vids.

We kept the picnic simple with sandwiches from Subway, some drinks and chips. It was also a great opportunity to let the dogs roam free. This is a well hidden little State Park and Lake and we had the whole place to ourselves. We had 3 "drive-throughs" of people just checking the place out.

Don is debating whether to pull stumps tomorrow or hang out on his own one more night. He says his next rendezvous IRL is with Isaac-1 in LA...

After spending 10 months developing my land maybe this is what retirement is supposed to be - LOL...

Thanks for stopping in Don. Here's Don, self riding the 4-5 miles back to the RV park.

All six of us (includes two doggies) had a blast today! Yesterday was a great day as well.

Way too much fun here with Dan! I don't want to get addicted to having too much fun, so I decided to leave here in the morning-- I just loaded up the motorcycle on the rear.
