Hi Paul, I had forgotten about the SSN issue. IIRC some folks get around that by applying for a "Individual Taxpayer Identification Number", or whatever it's called. It's not really intended for this purpose, but I've heard/read about non-resident aliens using it instead of a SSN. The info is viewable at the IRS web site.
