Here is the secret:  They made bio-fuel out of those trout caught in the lake. Fish oil is potent, both in smell and brain-altering powers. ;)

When towing the Grand Cherokee with the 40 ft American Eagle we are getting approximately 28 MPG.  Does that sound about right?

I somehow get the feeling I am being called a liar.

Well, at least you do'nt have the prices like us poor devils in the UK.

Petrol - ?5 for a gallon - so about 9 USD for a US gallon

Diesel - worse - ?5.75 for a gallon - so about 10 USD for a US gallon.

28 mpg.  New math.

Mine came with full tank.  One of these days I am going to have to fill it up.  Probably shouldn't wait too long.

Salesman told me I could get 15mpg.

It all come down to how you look at it.  Since the Eagle normally gets between 8 and 8.5 MPG and the Grand Cherokee gets between 20 and 23 MPG on the highway,  When towing the GC from point A to B 8MPG for the Eagle plus 20 MPG if we had driven the GC must equal 28 MPG over all. ;) ;) ;D ;D :)  Sure sounds better figuring thata way. ;D

Now I understand your math Ron, and it makes perfect sense.

Ron, I think you forgot to divide by "0", carry the one and round off to four decimal places.  Or something like that. ??? ???

Wouldn't you need to add the two together (both miles and mileage) and average them to arrive at an overall MPG?

I knew you were using Montana Math, but couldn't figure out your formula.  ;D :D ;D

Wendy,

It's the same math that I heard when I asked for 20W50 oil and was told "we have 20W and 50W oil, so mix them together".

I remember now...we called it new math.  Didn't understand it 40+ years ago and I guess I don't now.

I guess if I could use that new math, My TT has gotten better than 6000 mpg so far and its average is improving every time I take a trip.  I don't know the exact MPG as I haven't used a gallon of gas yet :D

So my Intruder towing my Nissan Sentra gets approx. 50 MPG?  If I tack on a moped or two I guess I'll  have to stop every 100 miles or so and drain the excess fuel from my tank.
