Glue for tarps?

Hi,

I want to glue some tarp sections together and bought HH-66 and tried it out but it didn't stick at all. Then found out it works on vinyl but the tarps I'm using are polyethylene or polypropylene I don't know which. They are green on one side and brown on the other got at a hardware store and HH-66 doesn't work on that stuff. Can anyone suggest a type of glue that will work on it?

We always used “Awning tape” on stuff like that. Found in the camping supplies area. Comes in clear and colored. Clean the surfaces with alcohol, round the corners, apply on both sides.

Truck tarps are heavy vinyl. I seriously doubt that if the OP found someone to do it it would be cost prohibitive for the hardware store variety tarps.

I've had good luck repairing poly tarps using clear "GOOP". Most hardware store are likely to have it, or there's always Amazon.

Loctite says its Loctite Super Glue All Plastics. product will bond polypropylene but I don't know if it would remain flexible enough for tarp usage.

I use a lot of GOOP for many things. It's my Go To but it's not all that strong.

There is one called "mighty Mender" they are pushing on TV adds but have not tried it yet It's the standard over excited over loud add

Yep, a boat upholstery/sail shop can sew things together and make it hold.
