South East Michigan eh... I think I've heard of that spot (Today I'm From as opposed to In, Detroit)

Perhaps we can get together some day.  I'll be at Orchestera Hall on the 18th (10:45 am) listening to the DSO

We know that place, we're just south. On the road. Be home in about 10 days.

Welcome to the forum.

Currently in Limon, CO.

Well, "About 10 days"  (Actually 9 days) is when I"ll be listening to the DSO, then pulling out headed south for the Dayton Hamventon.

Worked a bit over 25 years before I'd built up enough time to retire, most of it in Downtown Detroit (Lodge and Howard area)

Welcome! I went to HS in Elkhart IN and worked for Starcraft and Coachman before getting back to the west. NI is great country, both sides of the bridge.

We're now south of A;buquerque and all I miss is the canoeing. . .

bzdqkq (and others from Michigan) - In July or early August wife and I will be taking a 4 or 5 week trip from New Braunfels, TX to the Traverse City area in our new 40 foot Monaco Diplomat. I spent a lot of time in Traverse City years ago, always flying in. I would appreciate suggestions as to the most scenic route through Michigan to get there as well as interesting things to see and do. We're not too much into Branson-type shows, but enjoy pretty scenery, craft fairs, good food, and meeting new friends. Wife has peripheral neuropathy and has difficulty walking and has a scooter, but strenuous walks are no longer possible for us.

When are the cherries ripe? As I recall it's in August.

Thanks in advance.

Kramer, check out this site for more TC info. The Cherry Festival is July 1-8. We usually go up in the fall and miss the festival. We rent a hotel room or B&B and hit the wineries and casino.

We spend about a month in Travers City every year visiting and helping Sam's mother.  Neither of us are really fond of TC with the high prices and the way they seem to fix prices.  A real tourest trap IMHO.  Watch out for the locals that feel they are exempt from obeying traffic lights or stop signs.  Can be a real hazard.
