Can anyone provide a source of information on the "High Pointe" microwave ovens other than what the factory  makes available on line? Every MH we see, including our Winnebago, seems to have these units. Must be well made but the controls are about as user friendly as a 747.  My wife wants me to tear it out, stomp on it, and replace with a Sharp or Amana.

Even the customer service 800 number on their " manual" is up for sale, it seems.

I think I remember reading some negative comments in the past about the High Pointe microwave ovens but can't find it/them now.  You should Google it for reviews before buying.  We sure like our Sharp microwave ovens in both the motorhome and the house.

I have one in My Tracer and it's pretty straight forward as far as user friendly, I've used it as a timer for the oven and as a microwave, seems pretty easy to Me.

To me the High Pointe reminds me of something in the last stages of design before they got it right, it works but not user friendly.

We have used ours, in a Winnebago class C, for 3 years. What exactly is the issue with the controls? I don't see a problem.

Please respond and tell me what you don't like.

I asked for a source of information, not a discussion about what you like about yours, or a dialogue about what I do not like about mine. My previous post gives all the pertinent information.

I do not need simple, I want intelligent design. I would prefer intelligent posts in response, but alas, yours was not.

There has to be different models but ours has everything from simple one button settings for 1 minute, 2 minute, ect. Defrost, timed cooking, even settings for potatoes, popcorn and what not. A bit different than the home unit but not much.

Never mind, you are all right, I am obviously wrong, it is indeed a wonderful device made by true genius, and I am merely incapable of understanding it's many virtues and superior design.

Perhaps it would help if you mentioned what is so "user unfriendly" about it (I don't have one -- mine are Sharp brand, home and RV). Since it's not the quality you're questioning, but just the interface, perhaps you could provide clues for those of us who are clueless about that brand/model.

Since I've never even seen one, let alone used one, perhaps I should shut up, but it seems no one knows what bothers you -- "interface" is rather general.

Or if all you want is a manual, then ignore me completely.

"Can anyone provide a source of information on the "High Pointe" microwave ovens other than what the factory  makes available on line? "

This is what I asked, it seemed a simple request, and I thought it quite specific. I have not received an answer, there may not be an answer. At this point I do not even WANT  an answer.

What is the model number of the microwave? I have found several online, but the model number will help me a bit.

No longer matters. I have removed it, left it by the curb where it was picked up by someone, and have bought  an Amana to replace it, which I will install today.

As my friend Gary used to respond to his Advanced Placement Biology students when they had a self-induced problem in the Lab, "You have to be smarter than the equipment."

Obviously, you are not.

And, for the record, your original post was sadly lacking in "all the pertinent information".

You probably did the right thing pulling it out - it was too much for you.

That's what she said... :p

Well, "Artic Fox", it seems that asking a simple question is guaranteed to bring responses from folks like you, who I may not adequately describe without violating the "friendliest forum" mantra.

Suffice it to say that I doubt I would have any problem besting you in IQ, education, electronics and mechanical backgrounds.  I say this having read some of your past posts.

I also have the ability to not become emotionally involved when someone disrespects my microwave.

As the original issue has been resolved and this topic is rapidly degenerating, I'm locking it.
