HWH jack leaking - did I ruin it?

OK,, now the "O" rings have to be placed in internal grooves in the bore,( after greasing ) then grease the bolt and install,, the trick is to install carefully to avoid cutting the "O" rings.. The torque is not importand,, just tight enough to keep from backing out due to vibration,, in this case the "O" rings are doing all the work.. Luck.>>>Dan  ( If there is a chamfer at the outer end of the bore,, then one "O" ring can go on the bolt against the head first,, then the other must be inserted in the bore prior to install..)

Hey Ryan, did replacing the bolt a second time fix the leak? I'm having a similar issue with my 6k kickdown jack, however, mine was not a slow leak but a blow out. After cleaning and drying everything, there is a steady leak from this hex bolt. When I removed the bolt, there were no rubber or copper washers...
Thanks, John

See this thread..

I never installed it! The leaking has really slowed although there is still a slight leak. I decided to "leave well enough alone" for the time being. I have a spare bolt and am keeping an eye on it.

The bolt is a cheap fix and I'm looking at my bolt kit and it contains 2 rubber o-rings.
