I really don't think about it one way or the other.
Got to study some of the original documents while writing that paper (I was in MCAE for years).
I'm impressed. Way too academic and advanced for me. Maybe I could have said that with emojis(I was in MCAE for years).
Humm,
I resemble that_.Wit and sarcasm is more or less my normal mode among friends and family members. They get it and accept it as just who I am.
But... have you ever had the pleasure (?) of trying to have a conversation with someone who no matter how obvious, just doesn't get it that you're KIDDING and you have to always be mindful of that?
The ability to express oneself in writing is a skill. A skill typically developed either formally via one's educational path or perhaps having been raised in an environment where writing skills are nurtured.Emojis are for those unable to express themselves in writing.
So, you're on the road, checking your email on your phone during a quick stopover to gas up and a friend asks, "How's it going?" Your friend deserves a thoughtful, eloquent response which describes your current circumstances, your state of mind and your plans for the future? Might be simpler just to reply: Do'in great!Anyone can make a sour face, or pick one from a selection.
To properly convey one's feelings, one must choose a selection of words and construct a sentence which properly describes the emotion. Anything less is lazy and inadequate, and does a disservice to self and any potential audience.
Or for that matter, a proficient typist...Just because someone is know a proficient writer...
My friends all know I’m a booky nerd and they also know they’ll get a potentially eloquent response. Kids too. They also know they may wait a few hours or to the next day. They also know if they send emoji’s, I may ask them what it means, so I guess I’ve got them trained and they generally use words with me. I guess it’s the whole immediate gratification thing I protest these days…a friend asks, "How's it going?" Your friend deserves a thoughtful, eloquent response which describes your current circumstances, your state of mind and your plans for the future?
