An inverter will allow you to run AC appliances for some period without being hooked up to shore power or continuously running a generator. If you'd like a little help installing an inverter in your RV and have some basic electrical/wiring knowledge/skills, check out our library article on Installing an inverter.  *

Note that the calculations in the example are just that - an example to help you figure out how many batteries you need (or how long you can go without recharging). You should obtain the actual power ratings of your own appliances from the respective owners manuals and make your own estimates of how long each one will be used.

If you don't possess the neccessary knowledge or skills, have a professional or a dealer do the installation.
